Privacy policy

This policy covers the StringingBear (小熊穿线) mobile app, the 小熊穿线 WeChat mini program and the website stringingbear.com (together, “our services”). We are a racket-stringing shop in Vancouver; reach us at hello@stringingbear.com.

• Your account: email and password (stored only in encrypted form; we can’t see it), the name you give us, your phone number (optional) and language. When you sign in to the mini program with WeChat, we receive a WeChat user ID (openid); we can’t see your WeChat ID.
• Stringing orders: racket, string, tension, drop-off time, notes, price and progress, and the rackets you save.
• Photos: pictures the shop takes of your racket when it is received, strung, ready and handed back, and any photos attached to a note from the stringer.
• Shop and second-hand: shop orders you place in the app; the description, photos and contact details you enter when you post a second-hand item.
• Notifications: your device’s push token, and how many WeChat messages you have allowed, so we can notify you.

The website itself uses no tracking cookies, ads or third-party analytics.

To string and return your racket, show you its progress, notify you as it moves along and contact you when needed. The shop may keep private notes about a customer, visible only to the shop. We never sell your information or use it for advertising.

Your data is stored in Canada (Supabase, Canada Central). These providers handle it only on our instructions: Supabase (database and photo storage), Expo (app notifications), Tencent/WeChat (mini program sign-in, subscription messages and cloud relay), Cloudflare (website and network relay) and our email provider (account emails such as sign-in codes). Users in mainland China: your information is transferred outside mainland China.

We keep your information until you delete your account, which you can do at any time under Me → Delete account in the app or the mini program. We then delete your account, name, email, saved rackets and push tokens and remove your phone number from your orders; orders, shop orders and second-hand posts stay as the shop’s records, no longer linked to you. To have second-hand posts and the like removed as well, email us and we’ll handle it within 15 business days.

You can view and change your name and phone number under Me, and you can email us to see, correct, export or delete your information.

Our services are not directed at children under 13.

When this policy changes we update the date on this page; significant changes are announced in the app or the mini program.
